Thailand – An Enchanting Place To Visit

Don’t be afraid to try something new. Thailand has things you will never experience at home. Fried bugs, beautiful golden temples, saffron robed monks, tuk-tuks, elephants and monkeys. It also has some of the nicest people in the world, the vast majority of whom would never do you harm.

Mini Siam gets its name from the original miniatures from Thailand. The other replicas from around the world were added later. Many of the models show great craftsmanship. However a few of the miniatures like the Hualamphong Station or the bridge over the River Kwai are in urgent need of restoration. The buildings and monuments are reconstructed on a scale of 1:25.

The natural beauty of the country is another major reason to be visited by tourist from all over the world. The beautiful beaches and the picturesque mountains and rainforests are a sight to behold. The beaches in Phuket are a superb place to visit and the Koh Phi Phi where the Hollywood movie “The Beach” was filmed, is of course a beach that seems to have come right down from paradise.

If you’re coming to Bangkok, don’t stay on Khao San Road. Khao San Road is the backpacker area of Bangkok. It’s full of flea-ridden guest houses and dodgy Westerners. The Thais look down on people who stay on Khao San Road and, honestly, with good reason sometimes. Pay a few extra dollars and stay at a guest house off Sukhumvit or in northern Bangkok near the sky train. They’ll be cleaner, better taken care of, and you won’t have to experience the 24-hour noise of Khao San Road or the disdain of the Thais. Better yet, pay a bit more and stay in a nice hotel. Still cheap by Western standards and with very good accommodation and customer service.

On a trip to Rome and few years ago we debated on renting motorbikes and we decided not to. We look back and kick ourselves for making that decision. I am so glad we did not pass up renting motorbikes in Thailand; it is one of my top ten memories of the trip.

After that, whether you go up North towards Chiang Mai or down south towards Phuket, you will find many temples and a rich culture that is truly unique. ayutthaya is such a grand sight to behold and is an UNESCO world heritage site. But there are not only nice temples and ruins to visit in Thailand, the natural beauty of the country is one of its greatest assets.

The villa is located atop a hillside and provides guests with unsurpassed views right across the northeastern coastline of this island and the other outer islands near it. The villa’s name came from the famous Big Buddha Temple that can be seen in the villa.

Thailand makes independant travel cheap, easy, and safe. It is so easy to get around and explore all the great wonders that the country has to offer.
